3 times now since updating to the latest version of CWE the game screen has frozen after rolling the dice on my personal settlement. The music keeps playing, the phone responds OK, but the CWE screen is frozen.
My device is Samsung Note 9, Android Version 10.
I have been trying for the past few days to get the daily dice into the 3x multiplier basket. I am physically unable to throw the dice so that it lands in the basket. I've been able to stack the dice so that there are two on top of each other and maybe if I had one or two extra dice on top of that, I may have been able to get one in. I am not even able to throw the dice so it lands past the 3x multiplier basket. It can bounce past it but it does not make its first bounce at a point after it.
@CATANdominik since version 1.16 we can freeze when harvesting ressources centers... Need to restart game to fix it. It happened 5-6x when harvesting around 30x.
The new settlement building balance for this season has introduced +VP per building card played. (Last season, we get +VP only when a building is first played or goes up a level)
According to this post each building card played in a Settlement will generate VP based on rarity: +1 VP for Common, +2 VP for Uncommon and +3 VP for Rare.
However, I have noticed that Uncommons actually give only +1 VP per card, and Rares give only +2 VP per card. I have cross-checked this between my Personal VP, the settlement VP (the number displayed above the Monument in the settlement screen) and also the regional score in the Strategy Map. They all show +1 VP added when I play one Uncommon card, and +2 VP added when I play one Rare card.
I have not confirmed if this is the case for the Global score as well because it is not possible for me to track only the VP that I have contributed (I cannot control for VP from other players around the world adding to the score at about the same time).
Today we want to introduce a selection of the CATAN – World Explorers team to you. There are many more people working on the game, especially on the development side. Though, these are the people who will be posting regularly on the forum.
Dominik Schönleben, Global Community Manager
Dominik is responsible for Community and Social Media for CATAN – World Explorers. He’s your ally when it comes to bringing up issues with the development team and writes a good portion of the forum announcements. Previous to his work on CATAN he has supported the regional team in Europe primarily on Pokémon GO and Ingress. Dominik is an avid boardgame fan, with a giant collection that covers his whole living room wall – including, of course, a whole shelf section dedicated to CATAN. Though recently during social distancing, he has been spending more time with boardgames that offer a solo mode. You can also follow him on Twitter or Instagram, though if you have any issues related to the game it’s best to reach out via the forum.
Nate Chatellier, Lead Designer
In addition to being the Lead Designer of CATAN – World Explorers, Nate is the head of Nerd Ninjas, the first game studio developing an augmented reality game on the Niantic Real World Platform. CATAN – World Explorers is not the first board game related design credit by Nate. He is also the designer of the very successful board game Dice Throne. Nate started his board game collection with CATAN and his passion for the game has never faded. He isn’t as active on the forum, but will probably join for all future design related live streams. You can follow him on Twitter or the Dice Throne Community.
QA Engineering Lead
Rae is part of the Quality Assurance team on CATAN – World Explorers. If there is a new bug reported and upvoted on the forum, Rae will be the first person trying to get to the bottom of the issue. Rae has played one game of CATAN, won one game of CATAN, and has decided to retire early in order to better focus on bug fixes.
Fiona is managing the technical support for CATAN – World Explorers. This includes the in-app support, but also any technical issues that might come up in the forum. Together with Rae she is managing the “Report a Bug” section of the forum, to make sure that nothing slips through. She is the best person to tag, if there are any technical issues with the forum or the in-app support. Fiona grew up playing CATAN with her family almost every weekend, and can boast that she is undefeated in her current household.
Eir watches over the game world, seeking to keep competition healthy, balanced, and fun. As a result, they're present in many aspects of the game: feature design, the numbers, monitoring the community meta, and even at times "in the code.” With a board game collection that may rival Dominik's, CATAN – World Explorers has been the opportunity of a lifetime. Eir’s favorite CATAN is “Cities and Knights”. But the two-player “The Rivals for CATAN” (with expansions), the harder to find “Candamir,” and the recently re-released “CATAN – Starfarers” also receive quite a bit of play.
