How best to spend gold?

Seeking advice on how to spend precious gold. Is it better to upgrade backpack storage or to develop my golden settlement or wait until they have sorted the game out more?

use it for tiles in the golden settlement and and for level 1 buildings in the golden settlement. as soon as you see how the layout of your tiles is you can place the buildings optimized and level up the buildings. I would not upgrade the backpack yet, because we don't really know what Update 1.22 is gonna do to it bugwise ;)
